Becky Buller and Chad Graves - IBMA Official Showcase 2008

Josh took home IBMA guitar player of the year and all of his showcases were packed… watch out for this guy!

Tammy Rogers, Mike Flemming and Chris Stapleton… Great band!

We had a great time at the Tennessee State Fair this year… lots of interesting people around, that’s for sure!
Part of the old Nashville City Hospital complex… if I’m not mistaken, this is considered the “art deco” building and was used as a school. Currently the complex is being renovated into condos.

Souvenir geode we picked up at the Ruby Falls gift shop… I’ve always loved these things!

One of the most famous vocal microphones in history.

The main waterfall at Fall Creek Falls State Park in TN. At 256 feet, this is the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi River.

Venue where the Bluegrass Underground radio shows for WSM are being recorded. This all took place deep within a cave at Cumberland Caverns in Middle Tennessee. It is simply amazing that we are able to go to see bluegrass in such a beautiful place… I couldn’t beleive it the whole time I was there. Grammy winning engineer Nashphil (Phil Harris) was in charge of the audio and gave Amanda and I tickets… Thanks again Phil!
UPDATE 10-14-08:
I have just been enlisted as the official photographer for the Bluegrass Underground tapings… 2 great shows coming up… The Infamous Stringdusters Nov 8 and Tim O’Brien Dec 6. You won’t want to miss these!

These big colorful guys disappeared for a few months and were back for a few days! Found near Browns Creek behind Creative Caffeine Studio.

What an amazing concert… Buddy Miller, Stuart Duncan, Alison Krauss, Robert Plant, T-Bone Burnett, Dennis Crouch, and one hell of a drummer… I never caught his name.

Ween put on a great show in Nashville Wednesday night… The place was so packed I had to put the camera up after a few shots. Too many drunk people packed in like that make me nervous. Awesome performance! I went with 2 hardcore fans that were extremely satisfied and I was extremely impressed, although I have never listened to the band. The way Aaron (Gene Ween) connects with the audience is truly special. There was a very real connection with the band as well. You could tell they were happy to be in Nashville playing their songs for a very dedicated, loyal, and quite large fanbase. I’ve never personally seen City Hall that crowded.

Here are just a few of cool living things found at the songwriters retreat behind Creative Caffeine Studio.

A different view of the Cumberland River just past downtown Nashville a few minutes after sunset.

One of the best Grayson Capps shows I’ve seen… the energy was incredible!

Many more pics coming… Amanda and I had a wonderful time in Chattanooga last weekend. This amazing rock formation is found in the cave to Ruby Falls, inside of Lookout Mountain.

Dan Tyminski and his band put on a fabulous show tonight at the Belcourt for Dan’s CD Release Party. Spectacular!!! The professionalism of this band is unbelievable. Adam Steffey not only smoked on the mandolin, but had us laughing the entire show! Read the rest of this entry »
