Spotted this strange cemetary outside of Mattoon, IL over Thanksgiving break.

Here’s another shot of this very cool old cabin… this was taken on Fuji Provia 100 slide film.

Abandoned barn just before sunset… rural Central Illinois, just outside of Mattoon.

This strange cemetery outside Mattoon, Illinois commemorates an entire family that was killed in the 1917 tornado, the second most destructive ever in Illinois history. It cut a swath through Coles County.

Found while driving around near Fall Creek Falls.

Very cool suspension bridge at Fall Creek Falls State Park… black and white brings out the creepiness of it!

The leaves were just starting to change… Very pretty in the Smoky Mountains last weekend!

Nestled in the smokey mountains about 20 minutes outside of Sevierville.

Part of the old Nashville City Hospital complex… if I’m not mistaken, this is considered the “art deco” building and was used as a school.  Currently the complex is being renovated into condos.

Located on the Cumberland River, just outside of Nashville, is the Waterworks Intake Tower, often mistaken for a lighthouse.

What a great find!  Right on the edge of Lookout Mountain.

Situated in downtown Nashville, just off interstate 65, commuters pass by a group of buildings that offer only small clues to their past prominence. Barry Walker, the present owner of the buildings, quietly inches his way, restoring the buildings to their prior glory.

The main building was constructed in 1881 as “The Phoenix Cotton Mill” also known as the Nashville Cotton Mill. By 1910 the building was vacant.

Taken a few months back, I just got around to working on this scan of an abondoned shed down off of Nolensville Rd south of Nashville.  I think I was shooting on some cheapo Kroger film that my girlfriend got for about a $1 for 4 rolls… actually turned out some nice pictures!

Not indicative of the town itself, here are some of the eye sores (and a few that don’t hurt) in Mattoon, IL. Taken on Easter Sunday Morning.

The colors came out really nice on this ratty old shed behind yet another abandoned property in rural Tennessee.
